Launching and quitting

To launch an application, say "Alexa, Open Plum Head". If you need to quit an application, at any time, you can say "Alexa, exit".

Application modes

Plum Head application can be in one of the following modes. This documentation covers each mode.

Unpaired

This is an initial mode when you launch Plum Head application for the first time. In this mode you can say following:

  • Pair - starts the pairing process. This command changes an application mode to Pairing.
  • Help - provides help.

Pairing

This mode is an active paring phase. You can only say "Alexa, [pairing code]". Please, see pairing section for more information.

This is a default application mode, which appears right after pairing is succeeded or when you launch Plum Head application. In this mode you can say following: 

  • List my feeds - list all feeds you are subscribed.
  • Read feed number [N] - list all news titles from the Nth feed in your list of feeds. This command changes an application mode to Listing news titles.
  • Unpair - unpairs Plum Head application from your user account.
  • Help - provides help.

Listing news titles

This mode is active when Plum Head is listing all the news titles from the feed. It reads titles one by one so for each news title you can say following:

  • Read it - reads news contents. This command changes an application mode to Reading news contents.
  • Repeat - reads last news title again.
  • Next - reads next news title.
  • Previous  - reads previous news title.
  • Stop - stops listing news titles. Changes an application state back to the Main menu.
  • Main menu - changes an application state back to the Main menu.
  • Help - provides help.

Reading news contents

This mode is active when Plum Head is reading news contents. In this mode you can say following:

  • Repeat - reads news contents again.
  • Next - reads a title of the next news in the feed. This command changes an application state back to Listing news titles.
  • Previous - reads a title of the previous news in the feed. This command changes an application state back to Listing news titles.
  • Stop - stops reading news contents. Changes an application state back to the Listing news titles. To activate this command while Alexa is reading news contents, say Alexa, stop
  • Main menu - changes an application state to the Main menu.
  • Help - provides help.
